FAQ
Questions we hear a lot.
- Is there really no time-limited trial?
- Right — the free plan is permanent. You get 3 certificates a month forever. When you outgrow it (usually the day you take on your 4th restaurant in a month), you upgrade.
- Why does the free plan keep QR verification?
- Because /verify is our best marketing channel. Every time a fire marshal or manager scans a HoodStamp QR, they land on a page that says “Powered by HoodStamp.” We’re not going to gate that off.
- How do reminders work?
- Every customer has a cooking type (solid fuel, high-volume, moderate, low). That sets the required cleaning frequency per NFPA 96. We email you 30, 14, and 3 days before the next cleaning is due.
- Do the certificates hold up with local fire marshals?
- Certificates are built on NFPA 96, the national standard every US AHJ builds on. We’re adding jurisdiction-specific overrides (Houston FD, Dallas FMO, etc.) as we verify them with each authority — we won’t ship regulations we haven’t confirmed.
